Women's Tennis Adds Birenbaum for 2011

KIRKSVILLE - - Truman tennis coach Pete Kendall has announced the signing of Kim Birenbaum, a senior at Parkway West High School in Ballwin, Mo., for the 2011 women's tennis squad.

Birenbaum has captured multiple conference and district doubles championships and was a state qualifier in 2009.

“Kim is a fine player who I expect to be in our singles and doubles lineup from day one,” Kendall said. “She has many years of playing experience, both in high school and in USTA tournaments, and will be a very solid performer during her four years at Truman.”

The daughter of Dr. Bill and Jane Birenbaum, Kim will be studying Biology at Truman. Both her mother and older sister, Kristen, are graduates of Truman. She is a member of the Service Honor Society and Student Council at Parkway West.

The Truman women's tennis team, after posting a 2-1 dual record in the fall, opens the spring portion of its schedule at the Principia (Ill.) College Invitational on February 18, 2011.
