Softball Eliminated from GLVC Tournament vs. #10 Indy

EAST PEORIA, Ill. - - The Truman softball team dropped a 7-0 decision to NFCA No. 10 Indianapolis in an elimination game at the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament on Saturday morning.
 
The Bulldogs (34-13) mustered just two hits on the day against U-Indy's pitching tandem of Morgan Foley (W, 31-6) and Coryn Tirpak (S, 1), while the Greyhounds (40-11) scored one in the second, and three runs in each the fourth and fifth innings to go alongside 14 hits and two errors.
 
Freshman Jamie Fowle (1-for-2; 2 walks) reached base three times, while sophomore Lex Van Nostrand (1-for-4) added the Bulldogs' other hit in the game. The squads combined to leave 21 runners on base, as the Bulldogs' starter, Kelsea Dorsey, took the loss (17-5) after pitching 3.2 innings and surrendering four earned runs. Kindra Henze entered in relief and tossed the final 3.1 innings, striking out four and allowing three runs.
 
Truman, who entered the week at No. 7 in the NCAA Div. II Midwest regional rankings must now await word regarding a potential at-large bid to the 2015 NCAA tournament, which begins next Friday at campus sites through the country. The Bulldogs will learn their fate at 9 a.m. on Monday (May 4) via a selection show on NCAA.com.
