Women's Basketball Signs Three During November Signing

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Truman Women's Basketball has added three players during the November signing period. Makenzie Bray (Springfield, Ill.), Katey Klucking (Columbia, Mo.) and Allison Thomas (Overland Park, Kan.) will be members of the Truman Bulldogs starting in the 2018-19 season.

"We are extremely excited to have signed Allison, Makenzie, and Katey here at Truman," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Amy Eagan. "We have signed three highly skilled players that all value education, family, and hard work, which make them great fits to our program and philosophy. A huge thanks to my assistants, Coach Theo Dean, Coach Britta Hand, and former assistant Coach Quinn Rear for all their hard work in getting these kids committed and signed. I also want to thank our players for their work in the recruiting process. Their character, love for each other, and hard work sell our program! We have gotten three steals and I expect the talent of these three to contribute to the continuing growth of our program to new heights."

Makenzie Bray (5-10) Springfield, Ill. Glenwood High School
Bray has been named to the all-conference team three times prior to her senior season at Glenwood. She was an all-state honorable mention in both her sophomore and junior years. She already holds the school's career and individual game scoring mark. Bray was a two-year varsity starter and three-year letterwinner for the volleyball program, leading the team in assists and kills. Bray has also been a member of the track team with all-conference honors in the Shot Put and Discus.

Eagan on Bray: "Makenzie is a do-it-all guard. She has one of the most complete games of anyone I have recruited. From being able to bring the ball up the court, to being able to score in a variety of ways around the rim, to shooting the three, I love Makenzie's game. Her basketball IQ is one of the best I have seen and has contributed to her being a prolific scorer. I love what Makenzie will bring to our program and cannot wait to coach her the next four years!"

Katey  Klucking (5-9) Columbia, Mo. Rock Bridge HS
Klucking was named all-District last season as a junior for Rock Bridge after helping the Bruins to a third place Missouri Class 5 finish. She was a varsity member of the team that won the state championship in her freshman season that was led by current University of Missouri players Sophie Cunningham and Cierra Porter.  As a junior, Klucking averaged 12.9 points and four rebounds per contest. She knocked down 37 three-pointers and shot over 55% from the field overall. She enters her senior season with 83 steals and 124 assists in 87 games played.  She earned All-District and Defensive Player of the Year honors as a three-year starter on the soccer team.

Eagan on Klucking: "I had the opportunity to see Katey play a lot, and each and every time I fell more and more in love with her game. Her motor, grittiness, athleticism and strength will make an immediate impact in our program. Not to mention how skilled she is with the ability to shoot the 3 or get to the rim. Coming from one of the most successful girls basketball programs in the state, Katey knows what it takes to win. She is a great leader and I cannot wait until she gets here next August!"

Allison Thomas (6-2) Overland Park, Kan. St. Thomas Aquinas High School
Thomas has been a member of two Kansas 5A State championship teams prior to her senior season at St. Thomas Aquinas. She was a second team all-State pick as a junior and has been an all-conference choice twice. Thomas broke a school single-game record with 19 rebounds. She has been a member of the school's volleyball and softball programs.

Eagan on Thomas: "Allison is one of the quietest kids I have recruited off the floor, but one of the grittiest on the floor. Her motor and work ethic are unmatched. Her ceiling is limitless and she is already one of the best rebounders I have seen.  Allison is a two-time state champion and simply put, a winner! I expect her to make an immediate impact in our program and I cannot wait until she joins our dawg family here at Truman!"
