Michelle Boyd, ATC is the Head Athletic Trainer for the Truman Department of Athletics. Boyd and her staff of three other full-time certified athletic trainers and athletic training students work with team physician Dr. John Bailey. Together, they provide quality healthcare for all of Truman’s 400+ student-athletes.
Boyd is a member of the athletics department administrative team and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association and is a past-president of the Missouri Athletic Trainers' Association.
At the 2009 NATA Convention, Boyd was honored with an Athletic Training Service Award.
Boyd served as the program director for one of the state’s premier Athletic Training Education programs. Truman's Athletic Training Major is an accredited program that prepares graduates to become certified athletic trainers.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 1992 from the University of Illinois-Champaign and her master’s in Exercise Physiology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994.
As a graduate student, Boyd worked as the head athletics trainer at Quaker Valley High School in Leetsdale, Pa.
