INDIANAPOLIS – A 24-point burst by the #17 Indianapolis Greyhounds after #23 Truman grabbed a 21-20 lead lifted the home team to a 44-28 win over the Bulldogs on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs trailed 20-14 at half with UINDY scoring on two big plays in the first half, a 55-yard pass play on the game's third snap of the game and a 33-yard catch with 1:41 left in the half, both by Ryan Topper.

Truman got their first half scores on Cody Schrader's 16-yard pass to answer UINDY on their first possession and a 10-yard run by Jaden Barr early in the second quarter.

Jordan Salima started the third with a 10-yard run with a personal foul flag on the Greyhound tacked on. Barr then hit Spencer Newell for a 28-yard pass to set up first and goal and two plays later Salima burrowed into the endzone to give Truman the lead.

It didn't last long. T.J. Edwards hit Topper for a 32-yard pass for the key call on a six-play, 62-yard drive to reestablish the lead for the Greyhounds. Al McKeller would score the go ahead TD from four yards out.

Truman went three and out then forced UINDY for a punt after another four-minute drive. However on the punt, the ball was muffed at the 16 and the Greyhounds recovered.

The Bulldogs held the home team to only a field goal but a second straight three-and-out put an exhausted defense back on the field.

UINDY took advantage as they methodically went 85-yards on 12-plays with another 6:42 of possession time with McKeller scoring from two yards out to make it 37-21.

The Greyhounds added another score in the quarter following an interception.

Truman got a late but noteworthy score by Barr. The senior QB ran it in from 10 yards out with 3:17 to play for his third touchdown responsible for on the night. He became Truman's all-time leader in TDs responsible for with that score being his 79th, passing Matt Ticich for the career Truman record.

Barr finished 19-of-34 with 202 yards and added another 46 on 10 rushing attempts. Scharder was the top target early with six grabs for 52 yards and Salima added five for 44. Newell caught three passes for 47.

The time of possession was the key stat for the game. UINDY controlled the clock for 39:02, including 21 minutes in the second half. The Greyhounds outgained Truman 532-322 with Edwards tossing for 293 yards on 18 completions and McKeller gaining 120 yards on the ground.

Reed McBroom led the Bulldog defense with a career-high 15 tackles and joined Sam Reeves with each recording a sack.

Truman will take their 8-2 record on the road for a non-conference game in the regular season finale. The Bulldogs will look to win their ninth game for only the seventh time in school history when they travel to Urbana University next Saturday at noon, eastern, in Urbana, Ohio.
