INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Indianapolis' Toriano Clinton scored four touchdowns and rushed for 235 yards as the Greyhounds used a late first half touchdown to swing the momentum against the Truman Bulldogs and win the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship game 46-29 on Saturday night.
Nolan Hair completed 31-of-57 pass attempts for 316 yards and four touchdowns with his favorite targets being tight end Jake Ellis and receiver Dante Ruffin. Ellis hauled in 11 catches for 138 yards and a score while Ruffin nabbed nine passes for 111 yard and a TD. Matt Hall caught seven passes and had two touchdowns plus a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter that pull Truman to within eight at 37-29.
The Bulldogs scored first on a 25-yard pass from Hair to Ruffin at the 10:31 mark of the first quarter however UINDY wasted little time in sweeping down the field and Clinton scampered 67-yards two plays later to equal the scoreboard.
Bryce Stancombe then hit Clinton on three yard pass to put the Greyhounds up 14-7.
Truman responded when Hair capped off a 12-play drive by hitting Ellis in the end zone from five yards out. The Bulldogs then grabbed the lead when Hair and Hall connected for a three-year pass with 7:15 to go in the second quarter.
Paul Buisman had his 31-yard field goal get a favorable bounce off the crossbar to pull the Greyhounds back to 21-17 with 3:27 in the half. Truman could not run out the halftime clock and were forced to punt with 1:24 left before the intermission.
The Greyhounds went 83-yards in eight plays with Stancomb finding Ryan Topper in the middle of the end zone to put UINDY back on top 24-21 at the break.
The third quarter belonged to the home team with Clinton scoring on a 30-yard running play and Buisman connecting on a 26-yard field goal to send UINDy up 34-21 after three quarters.

Hair engineered a 13-play, 82-yard drive with Hall catching both the TD and two-point try to give the Bulldogs life at 37-29 however after a Truman defensive stop, the Bulldogs turned the ball over on downs which led to a final touchdown by Clinton with 1:48 to go in regulation. UINDY would add a safety on a botched snap of a Truman punt.
The Greyhounds accumulated 532 yard of total offense with 240 gained on the ground while Truman finished with 338 yards and only 22 rushing yards on the night.
Truman wraps up the spring season with a 3-1 record.
