Track & Field:
The running of the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships will be this weekend in Rolla, Missouri on the campus of Missouri S&T. The multi-events will start on Thursday and the bulk of the action will take place on Friday and Saturday.
Â
Grace Feeney enters the meet with the third best point total in the Heptathlon this season with 4,032 points when she competed in the multi-event at the Central Methodist Invite back in early April. She finished seventh back at the 2019 championships with 4,189 points.
Â
Jacob Morris is the top ranked thrower in the men's Discus. Morris' best mark of 50.93m/167-01 occurred at the Lincoln University Open back on April 11. He is the only GLVC Discus thrower to top 50 meters this season with Missouri S&T's sophomore Nathan Swadley in second at 49.24m.  Morris is seventh in the Hammer and 10th in the Javelin.
Â
Natalie Telep is the highest Bulldog woman ranked on the performance list as she is second in the women's Javelin. Telep's best throw came at the home meet on April 22nd when she topped 45.24m/148-5. Maryville senior Stephanie Sherwood leads the conference at 45.98m/150-10. Both Telep and Morris are competing in their first GLVC Outdoor Championships.
Â
Live video coverage of the meet will be on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN.com).
Â
Baseball:
Truman Baseball will look to play spoilers this weekend in the final series of the regular season. The Bulldogs host Missouri S&T for a four-game set beginning with a single game Friday, doubleheader on Saturday and single game on Sunday.
Â
S&T has a lot riding on the weekend as they sit in fourth place in the GLVC Green Division standings with a 14-14 record. The Miners have both Drury and Southwest Baptist nipping at their heels for that final spot in next week's GLVC tournament.Â
Â
Truman had a run-rule victory in the series opener at Rockhurst last Friday. The Bulldogs pounded out 17 hits, scored 16 runs and got a solid pitching performance for Connor McKenna in getting the 16-5 win. Steven Bradbury went 4-for-5 with three RBIs on the day and was 9-for-15 for the four-game series with four doubles in the mix.
Â
In only 16 games, Bradbury has taken over the team lead in hitting with a .345 batting average while Holden Missey and Kory Carter are battling for the home run lead. Carter has nine in 21 games this season and Missey has eight in 35.
Â
All four games of the series will be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network. (GLVCSN.com/Truman). Â
