ROLLA, Mo. – A big Bulldog third quarter led into a fourth-quarter slugfest with Missouri S&T eventually winning in overtime, 70-67.

Molly Joyce poured in 32 in the loss setting career highs in field goals and field goal attempts going 10-25 from the field. The sophomore guard went 3-6 from behind the arc and a perfect 9-9 from the free throw line scoring 30 points or more for the third time in her career. Graduate student guard

After the Bulldogs held the lead for most of the first quarter, the Miners took a 16-15 advantage on an Anna Finley three with 1:26 to play in the frame. Missouri S&T took a 33-29 lead into half and played ahead until 2:13 left on the clock in the third when Joyce hit a triple to put the 'Dogs up, 42-40. The eight-point highwater mark for Truman State came with 7:25 left in regulation on a Joyce layup before a nine-point Miner run took back the lead. Joyce game the Purple and White a 59-58 lead 1:05 before the final buzzer, but Franchesca Metz tied things with a 1-1 trip to the charity stripe at 00:42 remaining.
The Bulldogs tied things late in overtime on Joyce's final trip to the line, 67-67, but Missouri S&T went 3-3 from the free throw line to seal the win.
Truman State finishes its road trip 11-15 overall, 8-8 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) while the Miners now stand at 14-8 overall, 9-7 GLVC having swept the season series. Truman State returns to Kirksville at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, when Maryville (Mo.) visits Pershing Arena.
