Bulldogs Cruise Past William Jewell 108-65, Record 4th Most Assists Ever

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman State women's basketball team put together a dominant performance Wednesday evening, defeating William Jewell 108-65 at Pershing Arena. The Bulldogs improved to 11-8 overall and 8-3 in conference play, while the Cardinals fell to 0-18 (0-12).

Truman State's 30 team assists marked the fourth-highest total in program history, showcasing the balanced and unselfish offensive attack that fueled the victory.

The Bulldogs established control early, opening the game with a Morgan Miller three-pointer assisted by Lexie White just 17 seconds into the contest. Truman State's offensive rhythm continued as Emajin McCallop dominated the opening quarter, scoring 11 of her 13 points in the first period. The Bulldogs shot an impressive 70.6% from the field in the opening frame, including 50% from three-point range, to build a 32-17 advantage after 10 minutes.

The second quarter saw Truman State extend its lead to 28 points. Mariann Blass connected on a three-pointer at 9:43 to push the lead to 35-17. Later in the quarter, Blass hit another three-pointer at 5:30 to make it 41-21. The Bulldogs' pressure defense forced multiple William Jewell turnovers, with Blass recording two steals during the period. A driving layup by Katelyn Odem at 0:31, assisted by Braylee Rogers, gave Truman State a 53-25 lead heading into halftime.

Truman State showed no signs of slowing down in the third quarter, shooting 61.1% from the field. The Bulldogs' largest lead of the period came at 36 points (85-49) following a fast break layup by Maggie Chambers with 21 seconds remaining in the quarter. Avery Rausch provided a spark off the bench with 10 third-quarter points, including a pair of three-pointers in the final three minutes.

The fourth quarter featured extensive substitutions as the Bulldogs' bench continued to contribute. Neylan Vila Delicado connected on a three-pointer at 8:33, assisted by Chambers, to push the lead to 90-51. Marta Perez Souza added five fourth-quarter points, capping her performance with a fast-break driving layup at 0:52 to give Truman State its largest lead of 46 points (108-62) with 1:46 remaining.

The Bulldogs' offensive efficiency was remarkable throughout, shooting 58.8% from the field for the game, including 44.8% from three-point range. Truman State dominated in the paint with a 54-30 advantage and outscored William Jewell 59-11 in bench points.
