  • Eighth season as Offensive Coordinator for the Bulldogs after serving the previous six seasons as Assistant Head Coach at Quincy University.
  • Cody Schrader was the 2021 GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, earned All-America honors and led all NCAA Divisions in rushing yards.
  • Coached the 2016 GLVC Freshman of the Year, Jaden Barr and five other players earn all-GLVC honors in his first season at the helm.
  • In his second year, Killday had four players earn all-league accolades including Jordan Salima, the second leading rusher in the GLVC. Salima ran for 1,111 yards and was the top offensive threat with a combine 287 receptions and rushing attempts on the season. 
  • Year three saw Salima earn his second straight first team all-GLVC honors along with a first team selection for offensive lineman Nick Verbeck.
  • Nolan Hair was named GLVC Freshman of the Year following the 2021 spring season.
  • The Bulldogs were one of five teams in Division II that lost only three fumbles during the entire 2017 season. That was the fewest by a Truman team in school history. 
  • Coached Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers at Quincy and was also the recruiting and academic coordinator.
  • In 2015, Quincy averaged over 400 yards per game in total offense and over 30 minutes of possession time while averaging 26.4 points per game.
  • Quarterback Nick Lonegran set QU records for career passing yards (7,689) and touchdowns while receiver Justin Dickens holds the Hawks record for receptions (177), receiving yards (2,506) and touchdowns by a receiver with 31. 
  • Both Lonegran and Dickens earned first-team All-GLVC honors until the tutelage of Killday. 
  • Prior to Quincy, served as Offensive Coordinator at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox, Illinois, assistant coach at Edwardsville (Ill.) High School and Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield (Ill.). 
  • Coached in three Illinois State Championship games with two wins.
  • Was a two-year starter at Quarterback for Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois.
  • Jason and wife Stephanie resides in Kirksville with their kids.

Offensive Season Recap:

2022 - Once again a ball-control, power offense ruled the roost for the Bulldog football team in 2022. The Bulldogs averaged nearly 33 minutes per game of possession time and converted on third downs 46% of the time and scored inside the opponents red zone on 35 of 40 trips ((87%). Truman was among the league leaders in rushing yards per game at 180.5 and averaged 4.6 yards per attempt. When throwing the ball, the squad completed 61% of their passes for 152 yards per game. The single-game high in yards gained with 500 and 59 points scored in a road game at Quincy. Graduate transfer Shamar Griffin rushed for 973 yards on 195 attempts with true-freshman Denim Cook adding 375 yards on 50 rushes. Nolan Hair threw for 1,578 yards and 14 scores with four receivers hauling over 20 catches each. Tate Crane led the corps with 413 yards on 37 catches with Matt Hall grabbing 38 balls for 367 yards. Zach Zerwig (30-338) and Chris Kerr (24-283) rounded out the top four pass catchers. Six offensive players earned all-conference honors with three first-team nods. Griffin, Hall and utility player Collin Sutton along with offensive linemen Dane Eggert and Justin Watson were first team picks with Hair earning honorable mention accolades. 

2021 - It was a record book year for the Bulldog offense as they rushed for over 219 yards and posted 405 yards of total offense per game during the season en route to the America’s Crossroads Bowl title…GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, Cody Schrader, led all NCAA running backs with 2,074 yards and tallied 25 rushing touchdowns…Schrader scored 156 points, second most in a Truman season…the team’s total of 4,866 yards was second most by a Bulldog team in a season and averaged 6.27 yards per play…the 5.78 yards per rush also set a single-season record at Truman and was the most since the 1964 season…in addition to first team honors by Schrader, Matt Hall (TE), Jacob Morris (FB), Nick Biesemeyer (OL), Dane Eggert (OL), Dante Ruffin (WR) and Justin Watson (OL) earned all-league honors.

2020* - The four-game “Sprint” spring season saw Truman averaged 386 yards of total offense and freshman quarterback Nolan Hair was named GLVC Freshman of the Year after taking over for four-year starter Jaden Barr...Cody Schrader took the reins in the backfield and had three straight 100-yard rushing games and led the conference with 405 yards rushing in the spring to also garner first team all-league honors...Scharder had seven rushing touchdowns while Jake Ellis made 21 catches and four touchdowns.

2019 - The Bulldogs established their identity with a ball control offense that averaged over 33 minutes of possession time per game...the team avearged 215 yards on the ground per game led by four-time All-GLVC running  back Jordan Salima...Salima scored 16 rushing touchdowns with 1,145 yards on the ground rushing...senior quarterback Jaden Barr completed nearly 65% of his passes for 2052 yards with his top tagerts being Jake Ellis, Salima Cody Schrader, Spencer Newell, Dante Ruffin, Zach Zerwig and Jacob Morris...the Bulldogs put up a season-high 615 yards in a home win over Southwest Baptist and their 5.72 yards per play aveaged cracked the school’s top 10 in best offensive output...Salima ended his career fifth on the all-time rushing list with 3,643 yards, second in rushing attempts (838) and fourth in TDs with 36...Barr ended his career third in passing yards (6,887) and first in total offense (9,277 yards).

2018 - Truman racked up 2,349 yards on the ground, the most by a Bulldog team since the-Jarrett Anderson led 1996 team of 2,870 yards...they averaged 213.5 rushing yards per game, again the most since the 1996 season...that total was second among all GLVC schools...the Bulldogs were third in third down conversions at 42% and fourth in total offense at 339.7 per game...quarterback Jaden Barr had the most rushing yards by a Truman quarterback with 910 total yards gained on the ground...Barr, Jodan Salima and Andy Satulla combine for 2,113 rushing yards and 18 of the 19 rushing TDs...Barr completed 147 passes for 1,388 yards and 10 touchdowns...Dante Ruffin was the receiving leader with 305 yards through the air and Jake Ellis snagged five touchdown receptions.

2017 – The Bulldogs were the top team in the conference when it came to ball possession as they averaged over 32 minutes per game during the 2017 season…had a season high 43 minutes of possession time in the final game of the regular season in a 17-14 win over McKendree…running back Jordan Salima ran the ball 253 times, the most in the GLVC for 1,111 yards…Salima was the top receiver as well with34 receptions for 277 yards…quarterback Jaden Barr threw for 1,542 yards on 140 completions and tossed 11 touchdown passes…true freshman Jake Ellis made 20 catches for 218 yards and five touchdowns…while the scoring dipped down to 21.7 points per game, the total offense per game average went up to 333.5 from 319 the year before and the rushing offense was second in the GLVC at 175.7 yards per game…Truman had just three fumbles lost, that was tops in the nation and the offensive line allowed only 11 quarterback sacks…Matt Kaysinger was a first-team all-GLVC offensive lineman…Salima and freshman fullback Jacob Morris were second team all-GLVC honorees and joined on the all-league list by honorable mention tight end C.J. Brown.

2016 – GLVC Freshman of the Year Jaden Barr took over as starter in week two and the Bulldogs upped their scoring average from 17.5 points in 2015 to 26.7 under first year OC Jason Killday…Barr was fourth in the GLVC in total offense at 204/game…Barr accounted for 27 touchdowns, 10 on his own rushing and 17 through the air…he was flanked by true freshmen Jordan Salima in the backfield and Drew Slager as a receiver…Salima averaged 63 yards per game on the ground rushing, ranking fifth in the conference while Slager led the receiving corps 39 catches for 625 yards…the Bulldogs were second in the GLVC in time of possession with over 31 minutes per game and in third down conversion success at 41%...for the season, Truman averaged 319.9/game in total offense (142/rush and 178/passing)…Center Brad Wellman was a first-team all-GLVC honoree while Barr, Salima, Nick Verbeck (OL) and Joey Schenck (WR) were second team all-GLVC honorees…Slager was named honorable mention.
