Biography

Truman
2018: Struggled with an early-season injury but still appeared in 36 of the team's 46 games with 35 starts ... after her average dipped to .170 in her 21st game of the season on April 9 vs. McKendree, Cook went on a tear for her final 15 outings of the year ... in that span, she hit a red-hot .373 (19-for-51) to raise her average by 106 points to .276 and the only hitter better during that span was the All-American, Christa Reisinger, at .467 ... nine of those 15 games saw Cook in the leadoff spot where she thrived by going 10-of-32 (.313) at the dish with five runs scored and just a single strikeout ... overall, she finished with that .276 average (27-for-98), 16 runs, three doubles, five RBI, nine walks (career high), one hit-by-pitch (April 4 at Southwest Baptist), six sacrifice hits, two stolen bases, and a .970 fielding percentage as the primary left fielder ... registered six multi-hit games including a three-hit performance in game two vs. Wisconsin-Parkside on April 22 for her last ever home game when she was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI thanks to run-scoring singles in both the second and sixth innings ... named Academic All-GLVC ... recipient of the GLVC Brother James Gaffney, FSC Distinguished Scholar Award for achieving a 4.0 grade point average ... recipient of the GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award for finishing eligibility with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.

2017: Followed up her 
CoSIDA Academic All-District season with another successful year in 2017 as she hit .305 (54-for-177) and was one of six Bulldogs to start all 63 of the team's games ... all 63 of those starts came in left field for the Purple and White ... registered 32 runs scored, four doubles, 20 RBI, 58 total bases, four walks, one sacrifice fly, nine sacrifice hits, and was 12-of-13 in stolen bases and attempts ... had 12 multi-hit games including six with two and six with three ... batted in at least two runs three times including two times with two and one with three ... longest hitting streak was five games and longest reached-base streak was six games ... that three-RBI game was in Truman's ninth game of the season, the first of two at Lincoln on Feb. 21 ... that contest, Cook went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in the second and reached on an error with an RBI in the fifth ... named Academic All-GLVC ... recipient of the GLVC Brother James Gaffney, FSC Distinguished Scholar Award for achieving a 4.0 grade point average.

2016: One of five Bulldogs to start all 50 of the team's games and joined Christa Reisinger as the only members of the team to hit above .300 as she turned in a mark of .308 (48-for-156) ... compiled 22 runs, five RBI and 48 total bases ... tallied 10 sacrifice hits, five more than the next closest Bulldog and 25 percent of the team's 40 ... second to Reisinger for the team's lead in stolen bases with nine in her 14 attempts ... in the field, recorded just two errors in 63 chances for a .968 fielding percentage ... had a total of 13 multi-hit games including nine with two hits and four with three knocks ... longest hitting streak was six games (March 29-April 9) and her longest reached-base streak was eight games (March 26-April 9) ... set a new career high for stolen bases in a game with two and they came against Harding on Feb. 13 ... 
received CoSIDA Academic all-District first-team accolades ... named all-Academic GLVC.

2015: Played in 15 games as a true freshman, making seven starts - including two in post-season games ... batted .250 (4-for-16) with five runs scored ... went 1-for-1 stealing bases and was a perfect 1.000 in four fielding chances in the outfield ... advanced runners in 5-of-7 opportunities ... named Academic all-GLVC.


High School
A three-sport athlete at Clinton High School, Cook joins the Bulldog program after earning four-time all-conference and all-district accolades. She was named all-region twice and holds the school record for best batting average at .592. Riley was also a three-time all-conference performer on the basketball court and was all-conference in the outdoor triple jump, long jump, 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles in track & field. She played club ball for Team Power and was named academic all-state in softball while also being named to the National Honor Society.

Personal
Daughter of Stanley and Anita Cook … has one older sister ... is majoring in Exercise Science … birthday is April 6.
