Collin Nurenberg

Collin Nurenberg joined the Bulldog coaching staff in July of 2022 and serves as the Head Men's & Women's Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track and Field Coach for the distance and middle distance events. During his first year at Truman, 4 school records and 3 national provisional marks were achieved. Sophie Oxandale set both the Indoor and Outdoor 800m records while becoming the GLVC Indoor 800m champion. Lexy Henrikson broke the 1500m school record, previously set in 1990. They paired together on the Distance Medley Relay team with Addie Mathis and Alayna Pipkin to set another school record and take a GLVC runner-up finish. Other accomplishments included Bre Mathes receiving the GLVC XC Freshman Of The Year Award, the Women’s 4x400m team taking the GLVC Indoor title, 4 All-Conference performers at the GLVC XC Championships, and 7 total podium finishes during GLVC Track Championships. Academically, both Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic recognition.
 
In June of 2018, Nurenberg was hired at Wayne State in Detroit as assistant track and cross country coach. At the NCAA cross country regionals in 2018, the women placed sixth while the men 10th, a significant improvement for both programs from the prior season.
 
Nurenberg joined Northwood University in 2019. His distance runners earned a total of 11 NCAA provisional marks in 2022 between the indoor and outdoor track season while the men's cross country team placed in the top 10 in region for three consecutive races. Along with head coach Jeremy Wilk, the Northwood men's track field finished second in the GLIAC indoor meet in February with the staff being named the league's "Staff of the Year" award. 
 
While attending Saginaw Valley State University, Nurenberg was a five-time President's list awardee and Foundation Scholars member while earning his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science. He is a level one certified coach from USA Track & Field and holds certifications in technical and endurance specialist from the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association.
