Clint Fitzpatrick's fifth season at the helm came in 2018-19, but his most successful effort may have come the season before. Fitzpatrick continued to take the Truman State University women's golf program to new heights during the 2017-18 campaign. In the nine team events for Fitzpatrick's fourth season in charge of the Bulldogs, they took home second place in two of them, third in another and secured top-five finishes in four more including the GLVC Tournament.
That fifth-place finish in the league tournament meant that the Purple and White improved their result in the event for a fourth-consecutive season after 14th in 2014, 12th in 2015, 10th in 2016, and seventh in 2017.
Under the tutelage of Fitzpatrick, senior, Nicolle Barmettler, capped off arguably the most decorated career in the history of the program in 2018. Barmettler was the runner-up in the GLVC Tournament (second player in program history to finish that high in conference tournament) before competing in the NCAA East Super Regional for the second time in three years. There, she tied for 16th out of 66 golfers.
In 2016-17, Fitzpatrick's third season at the helm, the Bulldogs continued to see significant improvement as they earned their first-ever single-digit finish at the GLVC Championships in seventh place out of 14 teams. When the Purple and White first competed in the event in 2014, they finished in last out of 14 teams before placing 12th in 2015, 10th in 2016 and seventh in 2017.
In 2015-16, Fitzpatrick saw the Bulldogs earn their first NCAA Tournament qualifier since moving to the GLVC in 2013. That performer was named Nicolle Barmettler and she did so as just a sophomore. Since Fitzpatrick took over the program, the Bulldogs have placed second as a team 11 times, third four times and were among the top five teams 22 times.
