Lori Riegler joined the Truman State University Athletics staff in 2026 as the 12th Head Coach in program history, bringing nearly 30 years of coaching experience and an outstanding track record of building competitive programs at every level.

Riegler came to Kirksville directly from the University of Montevallo, where she served as Head Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming beginning in August 2024. In her first season, she guided the Montevallo women to a third-place finish at the 2025 Conference Carolinas Championships. In 2026, she led the men to the conference title and the women to a runner-up finish, earning Conference Carolinas Men's Coach of the Year honors. Her teams produced 14 individual and relay conference champions and two NCAA qualifiers during her time with the Falcons.

Prior to Montevallo, Riegler held head coaching positions at Columbus Aquatic Club (Columbus, Ga.), Aquastar Swimming (Houston, Texas), and Peoria Area Water Wizards (Peoria, Ill.), where she developed Junior National qualifiers, Scholastic All-Americans, and a USA Swimming National Select Camp qualifier. Her tenure as Director of Competitive Aquatics and Head Coach at Somerset Hills YMCA (Basking Ridge, N.J.) stands among the most decorated runs in club swimming history, producing a 17-18 Boys National Age Group Record holder, a USA Swimming National Junior Team member who earned a gold medal at the World Junior Championships, and back-to-back USA Swimming Silver Medal Club honors in 2019 and 2020. She also spent six years as Director of Competitive Swimming and Head Coach at Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA (Chapel Hill, N.C.), growing the program from 117 to more than 210 athletes.

A former Division I collegiate swimmer, Riegler earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Science and Education in Public Health, both from the University of Toledo. She holds an ASCA Level 5 certification, is a USA Swimming Member Coach, and has served as an At-Large member of the 2021 USA Swimming House of Delegates and as an ASCA Ambassador.
