Brita Hand

2016-17 marks the third year for Coach Hand on the Bulldog’s sidelines. Hand comes to Kirksville after having spent the past four years at Ashford University. The Clear Lake, Iowa native played three seasons for the Saints and served as the team’s Student Assistant Coach in her final year of college.

While a Student Assistant, Hand contributed to the team’s recruiting efforts; was in charge of all travel and meals; and helped out with game and practice planning, scouting reports, film breakdown, and film exchange. Hand’s efforts the past two seasons produced the best two years in the Ashford University Women’s Basketball program’s history. They were able to win the A.I.I. Conference two times. They advanced to the NAIA National Tournament in both those years, and won Ashford’s first game ever at the National Tournament. Most importantly, when it was all said and done, Coach Hand graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Minor in Physical Education with a Coaching Endorsement.

Coach Hand is a veteran of coaching camps all across the country. She has coached Ashford University Little Dribblers Camp, Belleville Wildcats Youth Camps, Clear Lake High School Basketball Camps, Chute Camps, and Truman State University Summer Camps. Most notably, Hand has coached many of the Courses in the Point Guard College Camp family including: Point Guard College, PGC Prep School, and PGC Essentials. She has done so at numerous Universities across the U.S.

She graduated with her Master of Arts in Leadership through Truman State University in May. She resides in Kirksville.
