R. Bruce Craddock Memorial

This scholarship was established in 1992 by friends and family of Coach Bruce Craddock ('66). Craddock was inducted into the Truman Hall of Fame in 1989. While serving as football coach at Truman, Craddock avidly opposed drugs and encouraged such virtues as hard work, determination and perseverance.

Peter J. Grathwohl Football Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2023 in memory of Pete Grathwohl by his family, teammates, and friends. Pete graduated from Truman in 1980 and was a four-year starter who received All-Conference recognition all four years. He was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Year following the 1977 season and inducted into the Truman State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.

Gregg Nesbitt Football Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2024 by Mark “Mac” McLeod. The fund will support Truman State University football players and honor Truman’s former head coach Gregg Nesbitt, who led the Bulldog Football program for 14 years with an 89–59 overall record and three postseason bowl championships.

Maurice E. “Red” Wade Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1988 in honor of Maurice E. Wade ('52). Coach Wade was inducted into the Truman Football Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Missouri Hall of Fame in 1993. He still holds the record for the most victories of any Truman football coach, as well as the most conference titles in Truman history.

Men’s Soccer

Dan Hogan Memorial Men’s Soccer Scholarship

This scholarship was created in 2025 by Sharon Husmann ('83) in memory of her brother, Dan Hogan ('86). Dan was a member of the Men’s Soccer team and was named All-MIAA first team in 1983. He went on to have a long coaching career and was inducted into two Halls of Fame.

Jeff Burke Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2021 by Tonia and Hanna Burke in honor of Jeff, beloved husband and father. Jeff cherished the friendships he made with soccer parents and was exceptionally proud when his daughter Hanna played soccer at Truman. This scholarship is for student-athletes with a special preference for those who have lost a parent.

Ann Wiesler Women’s Soccer Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established in 2014 by Ann Wiesler of Lake St. Louis, MO, a 1998 Truman graduate and four-year squad member on the women’s soccer team. The purpose is to help continue Truman State University’s tradition of excellence in women’s soccer.

Basketball

W. Boyd King Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1990 by friends and family of Boyd King ('37). King served as men’s basketball coach for Truman for 25 years and still holds the record for the basketball team’s highest winning percentage. He was inducted into the Truman Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Missouri Hall of Fame in 1989.

Ralph Pink Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2001 to honor lifelong athlete and coach, Ralph Pink ('48). Pink was a starter on two Bulldog men’s basketball championship teams and later coached at multiple institutions before returning to Truman, where he served as men’s tennis coach for 27 years.

Baseball

Kevin Harrison Athletics Scholarship

This scholarship was established in August 2023 by Kevin and Nancy Harrison to support Truman student-athletes. Kevin graduated from Truman in 1979 and was a member of the baseball team from 1975–1978. This scholarship supports student-athletes in baseball and women’s golf.

Andrew Range Baseball Scholarship

This scholarship was established in July 2018 by Robert and Traci Range to honor and celebrate the life of their remarkable son Andrew. A “Ranger” must exemplify compassion, empathy, resilience, and an outlook on life that is infectious—with unwavering dedication to their friends, family, studies, and sport.

The Young Family Baseball Scholarship

The Young Family Scholarship was established in 2026 by Patty Young and her son, Peter Young. Peter was a member of the Truman Baseball Team from 2015–2018, helped coach the program from 2018–2019, and worked in the University’s Athletics Department from 2021–2025.

Women’s Swimming

Katie Funk Swimming Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2006 by Leo and Caroline Funk in honor of their granddaughter Katie Funk. A 13-time All-American, Katie helped the women’s swimming team win the NCAA Division II national championship in each of her four years at Truman.

Men’s Swimming

J. Seth Huston Men’s Swimming Scholarship

This scholarship was endowed in 2003 to honor J. Seth Huston, who coached the Bulldog men’s and women’s swimming teams for eight years. Huston led the Bulldog women’s swimming team to back-to-back national championships in 2001 and 2002 and was named NCAA Division II women’s coach of the year four times.

Ed Schneider Men’s Cross Country Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2009 with an anonymous gift from a recent graduate and student-athlete under Coach Ed Schneider. The scholarship recognizes Coach Schneider’s significant contributions to Truman and will provide resources for deserving men’s cross country student-athletes in perpetuity.

Ed Schneider Memorial Scholarship for Walk-on Athletes

This scholarship was created in 2026 by Rick Bachman in memory of Coach Ed Schneider. Rick joined the Bulldog Track team as a walk-on and Coach Schneider provided him with an outstanding experience. This scholarship supports deserving walk-on student-athletes in men’s and women’s track.

Coach Tim Schwegler Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created in 2022 following the passing of Tim Schwegler, Truman’s Head Cross Country and Track & Field coach. Coach Schwegler will be forever remembered for his passion, positive spirit and leadership, and his emphasis on community and family as one team. Supports men’s and women’s cross country and track & field.

Women’s Golf

Lesseig Women’s Golf Scholarship

This scholarship was established in July 2013 by David and Jaime Steinman. As a four-year letter winner for Truman’s women’s golf team from 1995–1999, Jaime would like to honor Sam Lesseig, her golf coach, whom she appreciated for his incredible work ethic, competitiveness and encouragement.

General / Multi-Sport

Steve and Katherine Justice Athletic Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2021 through a generous gift from Steve and Katherine Justice. Steve graduated from Truman in 1970 and was honored as Truman’s Alumni of the Year in 2015. The scholarship provides meaningful support to intercollegiate student-athletes with demonstrated financial need.

George and Nadine Wilson Scholarship

This scholarship was established by George ('36) and Nadine ('33) Wilson. George was a four-year starter on football teams coached by Don Faurot that won a national record 26 straight games and four conference championships. Both were devoted to Truman’s student-athletes and its mission.
