CANYON, Texas  – Allie Norton joined the Truman 1,000 point club, Michalina Tomczak set a career-high with 25 points and the Bulldog Women's Basketball team bounced back to earn an 80-75 victory over Cameron (Okla.) in the final game of the Pak-A-Sak Holiday Tournament.

The Bulldogs scored the first five points of the game and Norton needed her first basket of the day to hit the milestone 1,000 point mark. Fittingly, she drained a three-pointer to give Truman an early 8-3 lead.

Norton would knock down four triples on the day but redshirt freshman McKenzie Russell would one-up the senior. Russell hit a pair of threes to give Truman a 16-11 lead and finished with five in the win.

After Truman took a 10-point lead at 16-6, the Aggies would score 16 of the next 19 points to go up 22-19 midway through the first half.

Tomczak scored eight of the next 11 Bulldog points and Truman climbed back in from 30-24. They would lead by seven at the half, 40-33 and go up by as many as 13 points on a Tomczak basket with 9:26 left to play.

The Aggies fought back to get within five with 1:01 showing but strong free throw shooting by Linnea Schmelzer, Rachel Steinhoff and Courtney Strait would allow the Bulldogs to maintain and close out the win.

The Bulldogs stuffed the stat sheet with several notable performances. Tomczak scored her 25 points on 12-of-17 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds. Russell was 5-of-8 from beyond the arc and grabbed eight boards to go with her 15 points and Allie Norton was 4-of-7 from outside to score 18 points. Strait broke an 0-for-11 shooting performance with the final basket of the game but pulled down12 rebounds and dished out eight assists, both career highs.

Truman won the glass 46-31 with 15 offensive rebounds and shot 43% for the game.

Jazzmine Robinson led the Aggies with 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting and had eight rebounds and four steals.  Cameron shot 41% from the field but were 8-of-25 (32%) from long range.

Tomczak joined Robinson, Arielle Saunders from Harding (Ark.) and Sasha Watson and Chontiquah White from West Texas A&M on the all-tournament team.

The Bulldogs will open up play in the Great Lakes Valley Conference next Saturday afternoon at home against rival Quincy (Ill.) University. Truman took two of three against the Lady Hawks last season, including the semifinal victory in the GLVC Postseason Tournament. Tip time is slated for 1:00 p.m. from Truman's Pershing Arena.
