KIRKSVILLE, Mo.  – Courtney Strait, Allie Norton and Michalina Tomczak all scored in double figures as the Truman Women's Basketball team won their fifth straight by defeating the University of Wisconsin-Parkside 78-66 on Friday night in Pershing Arena.

Strait led the Bulldogs with 21 points, 16 in the first half, and went 10-of-11 at the free throw line. The Bulldogs took 43 free throw attempts during the game, the third most in school history and converted on 33, good for 76% on the night. Truman outscored the Rangers by 20 at the line.

Norton had 12 at the break and hit all four of her three pointers in the opening 20 minutes. She finished with 18 on the night and is one shy of 1,100 for her career.

Tomczak set a career high with 12 rebounds to go with her 14 points scored. It was her first double-double of her career and she added three blocks.
Norton's back-to-back three-pointers with five minutes left in the first half pushed Truman's lead to 13 points and it swelled to 18 early into the second half.

UW-Parkside chipped away with a 7-0 run over a two minute span to cut the margin to 63-54 but Kennedy Martin got a key steal then converted on a pair of free throws to keep the Rangers at bay. Truman would go 23-of-28 (82.1%) from the foul line in the second half.

Gaby Bronson led UW-Parkside with 13 points and six assists before fouling out. The Rangers shot 41% for the game but just 59% from the free throw line. UW-Parkside came into the contest leading the Great Lakes Valley Conference in scoring defense allowing 56 points per game but Truman put up the most points against the Rangers thus far this season.

The Bulldogs will be faced with a tall task on Sunday afternoon when they host the number two team in Division II, Lewis (Ill.) University at 1:00 p.m. The Flyers are undefeated this season at 12-0 and rallied from five points down at half to defeat Quincy (Ill.) University 88-72 in conference action on Friday night.
