Kasey Gassensmith stopped the run after making a pair of free throws then Rachel Steinhoff knocked down a free throw and later a three-pointer to cut the Hawks' lead down to one. Steinhoff would finish with a career-high 17 points.

Nikia Edom answered for Quincy (8-1, 2-1 GLVC) at the other end with a triple but Gassensmith and Courtney Strait followed with buckets to tie the game at 59 with 2:28 showing.

Kara Gerbus, buried an open three to jump Quincy back on top at the two minute mark. Gassensmith connected on two more clutch free throws and following a miss from three by Gerbus, Steinhoff gave the Bulldogs the lead with 1:06 left.

Gassensmith picked the pocket of Maggie Cunningham on the ensuing Quincy possession and after a timeout, was fouled with nine seconds remaining. The
Truman senior remained perfect from the line as she extended Truman's lead out to what would be the final score of 65-62.

Quincy missed on two opportunities for game-tying shots. Edom missed a contested three out of a timeout and Truman got whistled for a player-control foul on the ensuing inbounds play with 2.9 seconds left. The Lady Hawks advanced the ball to the offensive end where Carly Beebe's desperation three was off to the right.
