KIRKSVILLE, Mo.  – Allie Norton became Truman's all-time three point champion as her five three-pointers on the day propelled the Truman Bulldogs to a 63-52 home win over the University of Indianapolis on Saturday The win clinched their spot in the Great Lakes Valley Conference postseason tournament.
 
Norton was 6-of-7 from the field and 5-of-6 from beyond the arc to pass Wendi Sobaski's school record of 269 triples. Norton tied the record at the 6:27 mark of the first half to give the Bulldogs a 20-18 lead in a game that saw six lead changes and a pair of ties.
 
She hit the final two of three straight by the Bulldogs on a 9-0 run that turned a 36-34 deficit in favor of the Greyhounds to a 42-34 lead for the Bulldogs.
 
Indianapolis pulled back to within one with 10:44 to play but an 8-0 run by Truman and a key three-pointer by Sam Andrews gave Truman a nine point led.
 
The Bulldog defense held the Greyhounds to nine points over the final ten minutes of action and Indianapolis did not make another field goal after the 7:40 mark.
 
Courtney Strait took over going nine of 10 from the foul line and pulling down nine second half rebounds to finish with a double-double of 17 points and 11 boards to tie Norton with game-high honors.  Ashley Hartwig tallied 11 points and Truman won the rebounding battle by a 34-25 margin.
 
The Greyhounds got 18 points from Nicole Anderson before fouling out and 15 from the GLVC's leading scorer Princess German.
 
With the win, Truman clinched one of the top 12 spots for the conference tournament and will control their destiny looking for a first round home game. They are in a four-way tie for fifth Quincy (Ill.), William Jewell (Mo.) and Missouri-St. Louis with three games left. They will face Maryville (7-8) on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. before coming home to host Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday. Truman owns a win over William Jewell and will finish the season looking for a season sweep over Quincy on Thursday, February 26.
