KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – It was a slow start but the party finally kicked into gear as the Truman Bulldogs outscored the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers 22-13 in the third quarter and won going away 65-50 in the final non-conference tune-up.

Cassidy Clark scored Truman's first seven points but the visitors took a four-point lead at 11-7 midway through the first quarter. Montira Mosby drilled a triple to jump start the rest of the team and Bulldogs scored the final seven points of the quarter to lead 14-7.

The 'Dogs clung to a one-point lead midway through the second before Brooke Bailey knocked down consecutive three pointers and later Mackenzie Jerks dropped in a triple for her first hoop of the season to put Truman up 30-20.

The Tigers clawed back and capitalized on a five-point possession when Clark picked up her third and fourth fouls to make it 35-30 with 6:34 left in the third. Eleanor Lueke, making her first collegiate start, turned the tide with a wing three and Bailey followed with her third triple to push the lead back out to double digits. Truman would go 4-of-6 from three in the third quarter and opened up a 20-point lead at 55-35 early in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs would cruise in the fourth to even their season record to 6-6 on the year.

Bailey finished with game high honors for Truman with 14 points and Clark added 11. The two had 15 of the Bulldogs 30 points at the half. Truman shot 35% from the field and 26% from three while going 11-of-19 at the charity stripe.

Iowa Wesleyan was led by Cairece Allen with 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting but the Tigers turned the ball over 23 times with Truman taking advantage and turning the turnovers into 21 points.

The Bulldogs begin conference play in earnest on Thursday night on the road at Illinois Springfield. Truman went 1-2 in the three Great Lakes Valley Conference games in early December and will begin a stretch of 14 straight league games at 5:30 p.m. against the Prairie Stars.
