RECAP: Truman Dominates Quincy For Second Straight Win

QUINCY, Ill. – The Bulldog Football team roasted the Quincy Hawks for touchdowns on their first two possessions and dominated the home team for a 31-7 victory to even their Great Lakes Valley Conference record to 3-3.
 
Quarterback Jaden Barr scored the first touchdown of the game and added two more passing as Truman outgained the Hawks 373 to 253. Barr tossed TDs to Hayden Holt (3 yards) and Quincy native Malique Robbins (30 yards).
 
Jordan Salima finished with 98 yards rushing on 19 carries and staked the Bulldogs to a 14-0 lead after a 22-yard touchdown run on Truman's second possession. Salima added 54 yards receiving on four receptions.
 
At the half, Truman had 16 first downs to only two by the home squad. For the game, Truman had 211 yards rushing, was 7-of-13 on third down and had 35 minutes of possession time.
 
The Bulldog defense allowed the Hawks to cross midfield once in the first half and four times overall. They stuffed Quincy on a fourth and short inside the five yard line for a turnover on downs. Quincy was credited with 42 yards rushing on the night and 253 yards of total offense.
 
Next up for the Bulldogs is a rematch with Southwest Baptist at Stokes Stadium. Truman and SBU met a back on October 7 with the Bearcats holding on to a 21-17 win. Kickoff is slated for noon.
