RECAP: Drake Wins Exhibition Battle Of Bulldogs 90-50

DES MOINES – The defending Missouri Valley Conference champions got off to a hot start and downed the Truman Women's Basketball team 90-50 in an exhibition game on Sunday afternoon. Remy Davenport led Truman in her Bulldog debut with 15 points.
 
The Drake Bulldogs were 28-5 overall last season and 18-0 in the MVC and blitzed the Bulldogs in the first quarter scoring the first 23 points of the game. Drake hit 13 of 16 shots (81.3%) in the first quarter and led 30-3.
 
Truman settled in in the second and was only outscored 18-17. The Bulldogs made four of eight three-pointers in the quarter and improved their shooting to 43%.
 
Truman bettered their Division I counterpart 19-18 in the fourth quarter.
 
Davenport, a Division I transfer from Nebraska-Omaha, found her scoring touch from outside. The senior made five of eight three pointers in 19 minutes of action. Freshman Katie Jaseckas added 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds also in 19 minutes.
 
Truman nearly half of their 33 rebounds come on the offensive glass.
 
The Bulldogs will open the season for good on Saturday evening when they host Missouri Valley College at 5:30 p.m.
