KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Bulldog Women's Basketball team blitzed William Jewell with a pair of early runs and led wire-to-wire in a 67-51 victory over the Cardinals on Thursday night.

Cassidy Clark notched her third double-double of the season with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds. Clark was 9 of 12 from the field and 7 of 9 from the foul line to score her seventh 20+ point game this season.

The Bulldogs raced out to an 8-0 start before Jewell scored the next four to cut the lead in half.  Eleanor Lueke and Mackenzie Jerks hit a pair of three-pointers and the Bulldogs would go up 19-6 in the first quarter. Truman hit four of six from distance in the opening stanza.

The lead expanded out to 21 early in the second before the Cardinals started to reel the Bulldogs back in.

A three-pointer by Hayden Butler drew the Cards back to 10 points and later a three from Kayla Harrell got Jewell to nine at 40-31 in the third quarter. Ashley Harwig scored five straight and a 12-2 burst by the Bulldogs ended any threat by the Cardinals.

Truman would cruise to the 16-point win and in the process clinched their spot in the GLVC Postseason Tournament for the fourth straight year.

In addition to Clark's 26, Harwig added 12 points and nine rebounds. Truman shot 40% for the game and made 7 of 19 from long range.

Maddie Nelson was the only Cardinal in double figures with 18 points, while playing all 40 minutes.

Truman will host Rockhurst on Saturday. The Hawks downed Quincy 68-58 on Thursday night.
