EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Through the first three quarters, Truman and #21 Southern Indiana were locked in a tight affair with six ties and 11 lead changes. However the fourth quarter was a different story as the Screaming Eagles outscored the Bulldogs 29-11 for a 70-50 win on Saturday afternoon in conference.

Truman led by six early 8-2 and had a pair of four point leads while USI led by as many as four points in the first 30 minutes of action. The Bulldogs last lead came on a basket by Katie Jaseckas at 2:55 left in the third quarter that put Truman up 39-37.

Alex Davidson scored on an offensive rebound to tie the game and put the Screaming Eagles in front with 31 seconds left in the third.

Each team exchanged possessions to start the fourth before Randa Harshbarger scored for USI. Davidson then stole the inbounds pass and had an open layup to force a quick timeout by the Bulldogs.

The lead built to nine at 48-39 until Remy Davenport and Rachel Steinhoff scored four straight for the Bulldogs. Morgan Dahlstrom keyed a 15-0 run to put the game away.

Truman was 4-of-15 overall, 0-of-8 from three and 3-of-10 at the line in the deciding quarter with eight turnovers. USI was the opposite. Southern Indiana put in 12 of their 17 overall attempts, one of two from outside and 4-of-8 at the line.

Turnovers were a big factor again for Truman. The Bulldogs had 24 turnovers that resulted in 25 USI points and the Screaming Eagles won the glass 46-37 with 17 offensive rebounds. Southern Indiana also registered 11 blocked shots, the fourth most by an opponent against Truman since 1992.

No Bulldog reached double figures in scoring but Truman was led by Jaseckas with nine points and 10 rebounds. Kaydie Grooms paced USI with 18 points while Davidson added 17 and Dahlstrom finished with 11 and 10 rebounds.

Truman will play at Maryville University on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. in St. Louis.
