Box Score (HTML)

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Football team kept to the task at hand in dominating Quincy University 41-7 on Saturday to set up their showdown for a piece of the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship next week in Kirksville against the University of Indianapolis.

Jaden Barr was a perfect 8-of-8 for 137 yards with three touchdown passes and a 59-yard TD run in the first half.

Truman (6-3; 5-0 GLVC) scored touchdowns in five of their six first half possessions with Andy Satulla scoring from two yards out, Barr racing in from 59 yards out, Barr to Jake Ellis for 36 yards, to Jordan Salima for seven and to C.J. Brown for 18. Josh Scheiderer added two more field goals, a 37 and 27 yard makes to account for Truman's points.

Quincy (2-7; 1-4 GLVC) had four plays account for 204 of their 372 yards on the day. A 40-yard pass from Andrew Rund to Gabriel Bryant in the second quarter doubled their offensive output at that point in the game but the Hawks turned it over on downs at the Bulldog 29.

The Hawks got on the board early in the third quarter when Sherond Boyd powered up the middle for an 85-yard run that cut Truman's lead to 38-7.

Truman finished with 413 yards of offense as they were able to get snaps for a majority of the backups in the second half. Barr finished 9-of-11 passing after coming out after the first drive of the third quarter. He led the 276 yard rushing attack with 87, followed by Malique Robbins with 66, Jaylen Jefferson with 61, Andy Satulla with 39 and Jordan Salima with 24.

The Bulldogs got their hand on two punts by the Hawks. One was blocked by Robbins and another by Jake Floyd.

Truman has now won six straight games for the first time since the 1997 season. They and Indianapolis are the lone unbeaten teams in the GLVC with the Bulldogs at 5-0 and UINDY at 6-0. It will be the final conference game for the Greyhounds while Truman will finish the season at Missouri S&T.

Indianapolis has claimed five of the six GLVC championships since the league formulated in 2012 with Truman and Southwest Baptist sharing the title in 2016. The Bulldogs defeated UINDY that season in Kirksville 24-17 but the Greyhounds won last year 34-19.

Kickoff is set for noon at Stokes Stadium.
