RECAP: Truman Dominates UIS On Senior Day

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – It was the freshman that stole the show on Senior Day. Katie Jaseckas poured in a season-high 26 points and added 13 rebounds as the Bulldogs downed Illinois Springfield 73-49.

The win punched their ticket officially in the Great Lakes Valley Conference postseason tournament. Seedings and pairing will be released on Saturday evening following the conclusion of league play.
 
Rachel Steinhoff got the party started with Truman's first three-pointer of the game just before half to give Truman a 27-22 advantage.
 
The Bulldogs then raced out of the locker room scoring the first ten points with triples by Steinhoff and Sloane Totta. Jaseckas secured her seventh double-double of the year in the quarter and had 18 points and 11 boards.
 
She would score Truman's first nine points in the fourth to put an exclamation point on the afternoon. After a layup, Jaseckas buried a pair of threes and grabbed two more rebounds to finish the day.
 
Rachel Edmundson added 10 points as the Bulldogs shot 43% for the game with seven threes. Truman won the glass by nine 44-35.
 
Destiny Ramsey was the only Prairie Star in double figures with 10 points. UIS shot 28% for the game with half of their 16 made field goals coming in the fourth quarter mop up time.
 
Seedings and game times for the GLVC Tournament will be announced via social media on Saturday evening at TrumanAthletics and posted to the GLVCSports.com website.
