KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman offense churned out 615 yards with a whopping 423 on the ground in moving to 5-0 on the season following a 52-7 victory over Southwest Baptist University on Saturday night.

Three Bulldogs rushed for over 100 yards led by
Jordan Salima's season-best 155 yards on 18 carries. Jaylin Jefferson averaged 34 yards on his three attempts for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Cody Schrader scored three rushing touchdowns and gained 119 yards on 12 attempts.

Salima started the scoring barrage with a two-yard run at the 11:43 mark of the game however the Bearcats answered right back when Brenden Smith pulled around the corner and scampered 76-yards for the equalizer.

The Bulldog defense posted three and outs on the next three offensive stands by SBU but the Bearcats pinned the 'Dogs deep at their own three. Truman marched 97-yards on 10 plays with Schrader picking up big plays on a 30-yard pass from
Jaden Barr and a 24-yard run to the Bearcat 16. Barr then found his trusty tight end
Jake Ellis for a 12-yard TD pass and the 14-7 lead.

Schrader would score the first of his three TDs on a nine-yard run in the second quarter then
Josh Scheiderer capped off a 17-play, 75-yard drive for a 24-7 halftime lead.

Schrader scored on a 43-yard run early in the third and following a Salima 63-yard gain, Scharder punched it in on the next play to put Truman up 38-7.

Jefferson got into the act with a 52-yard run in the fourth quarter and
Chris McCartney finished the scoring with a 14-yard sprint for the final score of 52-7.

Barr was 18-of-25 for 181 yards with Schrader catching six passes for 67-yards. The trio of Salima, Schrader, Jefferson finished with 562 all-purpose yards. Salima added 36 yards on six catches and Jefferson added 76 yards on two kick returns with his 103 rushing yards.

Isaiah Estes led a balanced defense with six tackles. Truman allowed SBU to 358 yards of offense with the bulk (246) on the ground.
Eric Yakle had a fumble recovery and
Ben Thomas, playing in his first collegiate game, had an interception.

Truman will take their 5-0 record to Lindenwood next Saturday for a showdown with the Lions. Lindenwood enters the GLVC after seven years in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The two teams played in 2012 with the Lions winning 38-13. Lindenwood is also 2-0 in conference play. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. in St. Charles, Missouri.
