RECAP: Win Number Four For Truman Women In Dominate 87-71 Win Over Missouri S&T

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Women's Basketball team won their fourth straight league game to start the season as they downed Missouri S&T 87-71 on Thursday night. It is the first time in school history that a Truman women's team has started conference play 4-0.
 
Hannah Belanger scored 18 points while Katey Klucking and Tiffany Davenport had 14 apiece.
 
The Bulldogs raced out to a 14-2 lead and led 23-12 after the first quarter with eight players scoring in the opening stanza.  Truman then found their outside stroke making four of their first five three-point attempts in the second and built up a 41-16 lead.
 
The Miners got things turned around and scored 15 straight points to close back to within 10 at 41-31 with 1:04 left before half. Belanger and Sloane Totta each knocked down triples in the final minute of the half and Truman went into the locker room up 47-34.
 
The third quarter was all Truman as the Bulldogs outscored the Lady Miners 21-10.
 
Maddie Re pulled down nine rebounds and Truman won the glass 40-27. Truman shot 49% for the game with 10 three-pointers out of 29 attempts.
 
Truman returns to action on Saturday afternoon hosting Maryville University. The Saints were 76-61 winners at Quincy.
