LOUISVILLE – The Bulldog women could not dig out of a 24-point hole and fell 72-62 on the road to Bellarmine University.

Truman (16-6; 12-3 GLVC) trailed 22-19 early in the second quarter but a 12-0 run by the Knights propelled Bellarmine (13-9; 8-7 GLVC) out to a 34-19 lead.  They would outscore the Bulldogs 20-7 in the second quarter and lead 40-22 at the break.

The third began with Bellarmine expanding the lead out to 24 points before Truman tried to mount a comeback. Sloane Totta knocked down consecutive three-pointers and Katie Jaseckas scored seven straight Bulldog points to cut the lead down to 13.

The lead bounced between six and nine points over the next seven minutes before Totta and Maddie Re scored to trim the Bellarmine advantage down to five with 1:40 to play.

After a miss on the offensive end, the Knights forced a turnover and converted on one of two free throws. Truman would go cold on the offensive end while Bellarmine took advantage and scored their remaining points from the foul line.
