KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman Women's Basketball team evened their season record to 5-5 with a 94-37 blitz over Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) College on Sunday afternoon.
Truman spotted the Trojans to a 2-0 lead but then hit 15 of their first 20 shots, including five of nine from outside to go up 37-13. The lead swelled to 53-21 at half.
Hannah Belanger scored 16 points in the first half and added another three in the second to finish with game-high honors of 19 points. Belanger made five of eight three-pointers on the afternoon.Â
Katey Klucking added 11 and Allison Thomas chipped in 10 on four-of-five shooting. Off the bench, Claire Rake connected on a trio of triples for 11 points and Kennedy Wallace also knocked down three threes for nine points. The bench scored 40 points on the afternoon and as a team, Truman shot nearly 60% overall and were 12-of-27 from distance.
Rebekah McCombs paced the Trojans with 10 points.Â
Truman will hit the ground running when their return from the Christmas break. The Bulldogs will resume play with a home conference game against Lindenwood on January 2nd and will play four conference games in the first week of the new year.
