INDIANAPOLIS--The Truman Baseball team suffered its fourth straight loss at the hands of the Indianapolis Greyhounds Sunday afternoon--falling 7-2. Brady Mundell picked up his first result of the season for UIndy, a win, while Ben Fugitt took his second loss.
Early on, things looked good for the Bulldogs. Kolin Demel got a one out single and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Will Fromm followed with a double to center field to bring Demel in. Fromm advanced to third and then a two out walk put runners on the corners but the Bulldogs could not strike for any more in the first.
In the top of the third inning, Brennan Perkins led off with a walk. Demel came up next and doubled to left, which scored Perkins from first. A wild pitch moved Demel to third base, and with no outs Truman was threatening for more. But Demel was out at home on a fielder's choice. Later in the inning, Fromm was at third and Reid Wilson was at second with two outs. But the next two batters were retired and Truman left the top of the third up 2-0.
From there the Greyhounds scored seven unanswered runs and took the final game of the series for a four game sweep. The Bulldogs will be back in action this coming weekend at home against Illinois Springfield.
