RECAP: UINDY Scores Winner Late In Second Overtime To Down Bulldogs

INDIANAPOLIS - Alexi Hardie, of the University of Indianapolis, scored late in the second overtime period to end the Truman Women's Soccer team's spring season in the Great Lakes Valley Conference quarterfinals on Monday 1-0. The Bulldogs finish the spring with a 7-7 record.

UINDY had sustained pressure in the final five minutes of the match with three corners kicks. One opportunity was blocked, another needed a Truman defender standing on the goal line to keep it out and a third was saved by Beth Hopwood.

The goal came as the Greyhounds had possession deep in left corner. The ball was played back to Maddy Theis who dribbled a few steps before firing across the field to Hardie, who wasted no time in beating Hopwood for the winner.

Truman had five shot in the extra time and 12 overall with one on goal in the second 10-minute session.

The Greyhounds move on to the semifinals on Friday.
