Brennan's Beautiful Goal Leads To Draw Vs. UIS

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Andy Brennan scored what could be the goal of the year as time expired to draw against University of Illinois Springfield 1-1.

The odds were in the Prairie Stars' favor as the play clock was winding down, but with five seconds left, Andy Brennan took matters into his own hands and scored a remarkable goal from 30 yards out as time expired.

UIS was in control for most of the game, with 16 total shots and nine of them being on goal. Billy Nzojyibwami scored what seemed to be the winning goal for the Prairie Stars at 72:09, but the Bulldogs kept fighting.

Truman had all 11 players attacking, with keeper Justin Olwig being an extra option as the clock was headed toward zero. A quick throw-in to Brennan gave Truman one last opportunity. He dribbled to his right before striking the ball perfectly into the top-right corner of the goal, sneaking past UIS keeper Connor McFadden's outstretched hands.

The Bulldogs had eight total shots, with Brennan's goal and an attempt from Sam Newton being on goal.

Justin Olwig recorded eight saves in the game.

Truman's record is 3-4-4 heading into their next game against Lewis University at home on Sunday, October 9, at 6 p.m. at Stokes Stadium.
