LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Truman State Bulldogs Men's basketball team put on a show in The Entertainment Capital of the World, defeating Central Missouri 77-63.
The Bulldogs went into the break up of 32-27, where Truman found themselves leading by 10 with 1:57 remaining before the Mules were able to cut the lead to five. Xavier Hall was tied with UCM's Raeshaun Ambris in first-half points with eight. Truman shot 12-23 from the field and 6-14 from three. Central Missouri was 8-21 and just 3-11 from behind the arc.
UCM's Jalen Knott hit a jumper 56 seconds into the second-half made it a 32-29 game, but Truman went on an 11-0 run from the 18:09 mark to 15:19 to go up 14. The deficit was too much for the Mules to handle, and the Bulldogs cruised to a 14-point victory to wrap up their play in the desert. The Bulldogs outscored UCM 45-36 in the second-half, shooting 15-23 from the field and 5-10 from three. CE Talton, Brennan Lovette, and Kobi Williams all had double-digit points in the second-half, with Talton leading the way with 14.
Kobi Williams and CE Talton were Truman's top scorers, with both dropping 16. Williams had two rebounds, five assists, and two steals while Talton had a steal.
Brennan Lovette was one point behind Williams and Talton, scoring 15 on 5-7 shooting. Lovette grabbed four boards and had two assists.
Xavier Hall was Truman's final double-digit scorer, having 14 points. Hall had four rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.Â
Landon Eiland had a team-high nine rebounds, also having three points, three assists, one block, and one steal.
Truman moves to 4-6 overall and will take a break before returning to action on December 28th for an exhibition contest at Bradley University.
