SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Bulldog bench contributed 31 points in an 80-48 dismantling of Newman (Kan.) as Truman State Women's Basketball got back into the win column Tuesday at the Drury Thanksgiving Classic.
Graduate student guard
Jordan Cunningham scored on a layup with four minutes remaining in the first quarter to give the Bulldogs a 10-8 lead they would not surrender. Cunningham contributed 13 points and seven rebounds going 6-11 from the floor. Sophomore guard
Molly Joyce paced Truman State with 14 points, including a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe, with five rebounds.
Senior forward
Emma Bulman led Bulldogs off the bench with 11 points, her highest total since tossing in 11 against Illinois Springfield Feb. 22, 2024. Down low, the Purple and White notched a commanding 38-16 advantage en route to the victory.
Newman, now 3-4 on the season, was led by 17 points from junior guard Saige Grampsas who went 5-12 from the field, all behind the three-point line.
The 3-4 Bulldogs finish play at the Drury Thanksgiving Classic at 1 p.m. Wednesday against the 5-1 University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
