BOLIVAR, Mo. – Truman State Women's Basketball took advantage of Southwest Baptist (Mo.) turnovers and foul trouble in a 77-63 win Thursday night.

Jordan Cunningham scored a season-high 27 points, 20 in the first half alone, to lead all scorers. Cunningham went 8-13 from the field, 3-6 in three pointers and 8-10 from the line with three steals and a block shot in 23 minutes of play. Redshirt freshman
Mallory Ott notched a first double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in just the fifth start of her career.
The Bulldogs won the turnover battle, 17-23, but came away with a 20-12 advantage in points off turnovers. At the line Truman State went 29-38 compared to 11-16 by Southwest Baptist after the Bearcats were called for 27 fouls in the contest.
A jumper from Cunningham with 1:10 to play in the first quarter gave Truman State a 17-14 lead before a 12-3 Bearcat run gave them a 26-20 lead with 4:34 remaining in the first half. From there the 'Dogs finished the frame on an 18-4 run to take a 38-30 advantage to the locker room at half. Once the second half got underway Truman State would see its lead climb to as many as 21, 70-49 at 6:06 in the fourth, before claiming the win by a 77-63 final.
The Bulldogs return to .500with the win, 5-5 overall record, 2-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play (GLVC), while Southwest Baptist falls to 3-5 overall, 2-1 GLVC. Truman State travels to Springfield, Mo., for a 1 p.m. conference tilt against Drury on Saturday.
