SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Bulldog Women's Basketball played from behind at Drury all afternoon in its first conference loss of the season.
The Panthers got out to an 18-0 lead to open the game and never looked back in the 97-72 downing of Truman State. The Bulldogs fall to 5-6 overall, 2-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play while Drury climbs to 6-2, 3-0 in league action.
Jordan Cunningham scored more than 20 points for the third consecutive game with 23. The graduate student guard went 7-23 from the floor and a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line. The Purple and White got a career-high 15 from sophomore guard
Lexie White in 30 minutes of play, and freshman guard
Katelyn Odem joined the pair as the third Bulldog in double digits with a career-high 11 points.
Drury won the rebound battle, 43-28, and tallied 23 second chance points to Truman State's nine.
The Bulldogs head west to play at the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UH-Hilo) Big Island Holiday Classic in their final action 2024. Fort Hays St. (Kan.) opens play at 5 p.m. (HT), Thursday, Dec. 19, and wrap things against UH-Hilo at 5 p.m. (HT) Saturday, December 21.
