KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman State Women's Basketball team shot nearly 53% from the field and made 33 of 38 free throw attempts in a blistering 98-83 victory over Illinois Springfield on Thursday night at home.
Ellie Weltha went over 1,600 career points as she led six Bulldogs in double-figures. Weltha also tied for second in all-time rebounds with 13 on the night and a total of 1084 matching Carol Jarrard's total from 1978-82.

Maddie Niemeier each with 12, 11 from
Emma Bulman and 10 from
Bailey Kliewer.
The Bulldogs scored over 20 points in each quarter with a high of 27 in the opening stanza to lead 27-20.
Illinois Springfield put up 95 shots compared to the Bulldogs 51 but made just 31 for a 33% game shooting percentage. Jessenia Lawson notched a double-double for the Prairie Stars with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs will close out the home season on Saturday hosting rival Quincy at 1:00 p.m.
