INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The UINDY Greyhounds took both games of a Saturday doubleheader against Truman State, winning 7-6 and 9-7.
Game One:
Truman State took an early 4-0 in the top of the first with Oliver Degenhardt, Luke Turner, and Tyler Tieman driving in runs. Degenhardt scored Colin Mueth with a sacrifice fly, Luke Turner hit a two-RBI double, and Tyler Tieman hit an RBI single.
UINDY scored two in the bottom of the first inning to make it a 4-2 game.
Kevin Donohue hit a single to right field that scored Tal Dean to increase the lead to three.
The Greyhounds scored two in the fourth and another in the sixth to tie the game 5-5.
Oliver Degenhardt drove Mueth in again with a double right field in the eighth inning, taking a one-run lead.
UINDY scored two in the bottom of the eighth, and won the game by a run.
Colin Mueth had a 3-5 day at the plate, stealing two bases and scoring twice.
Dakota Joggerst, Luke Turner, and Tyler Tieman all had two hits. Joggerst scored once, Turner had two RBI and a run, and Tyler Tieman drove in a run.
Oliver Degenhardt had two RBI and a stolen base.
Will Fromm and Kevin Donohue also had hits, with Donohue recording an RBI.
Alex Leary threw 6.0 innings with 5 earned runs. Leary struck out five, walked three, and allowed six hits.
Jaren Guck took the loss, throwing 1.2 innings.
Game Two:
UINDY struck first in the second inning, taking a 2-0 lead over the Bulldogs.
Truman tied it up in the third inning with Alex Wittenauer scoring on a wild pitch and and Tal Dean was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded with Kevin Donohue crossing home.
The Greyhounds went on a scoring run in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, going up 8-2 over the Bulldogs.
Truman scored five unanswered in the sixth and seventh innings, but UINDY was able to hold on for the win. Oliver Degenhardt had two more RBI with a double, Dakota Joggerst drove Degenhardt home with a single up the middle, PJ Jerszynski scored on a double play, and Dylan Thompson hit an RBI double.
Jordan Marlott took the loss after throwing 3.0 innings with five earned runs, two strikeouts, and three walks.
Ty Rauser threw 2.1 innings with two earned runs and five strikeouts. Rauser had two walks and four hits allowed.
Brian Bruxvoort threw 0.2 innings of shutout ball, striking out a batter and picking another off.
