SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Illinois Springfield held Truman State to just 19 percent in three-point shooting in a 67-55 GLVC victory.

Kobi Williams,
Trey Shearer, and
Xavier Hall each tossed in 12 points but went a combined 5-20 (25 percent) behind the arc. Forwards
Brennan Lovette and
Matt Haefner grabbed eight rebounds with Lovette contributing eight points.
Truman State jumped out to an 11-5 lead shooting 5-9 from the floor and 3-3 shooting from Lovette. A three pointer by Williams with 10:46 left in the half gave Truman State a 14-12 lead before the Prairie Stars took control off a 21-3 run. UIS shot 8-16 - including 3-7 behind the arc - while the Bulldogs managed just 1-14 shooting over the next ten minutes to put the Purple and White behind 33-20 at the half. Senior guard Max Kunnert and sophomore forward Khalil Ross scored 12 and 10, respectively, for UIS in the half while Williams paced Truman State with eight on 3-7 shooting.
The Prairie Stars were able to extend their lead to 43-26 just over five minutes into the second half, but the 'Dogs answered with a 9-2 run to climb within ten with 12:44 on the clock on a triple by redshirt sophomore

Landon Eiland once again narrowed the deficit to ten with 5:17 to play but UIS kept Truman State from a run to prevent the 67-55 loss.
The Bulldogs fall to 7-6 overall, 1-4 GLVC, while the Prairie Stars climb to .500 at 7-7 overall, 2-4 GLVC. Next up for Truman State will be the McKendree (Ill.) Bearcats at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, in Lebanon, Ill.
