Truman Women Pockets 10th Win With Victory Over Southwest Baptist

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman State Women held off Southwest Baptist down the stretch to pick up their 10th win of the season and even their league record to 7-7 with an 84-77 win on Saturday. Molly Joyce scored 28 points and Bryar Duwe added a career-high 17 points.
 
Truman State led by as many as 13 points in the first half and led 43-38 at the break after shooting nearly 70% in the first quarter.
 
The lead swelled to 64-48 (16 points) with 2:09 remaining in the third quarter.
 
The Bearcats made a late charge with an 8-0 run with less than five minutes to play. That run cut the score to 74-70 with 2:30 showing on the clock. They would pull to within three with 30 seconds left by Joyce and the team was solid at the free throw line.
 
The Bulldogs knocked down 20-of-22 attempts with Joyce making 11-o-12 to aid in her 28 points. Duwe and Jordan Cunningham each made three triples during the game.
 
SBU was led with 17 points by Amber Storr.
 
Truman State will play two road games next weekend starting on Thursday at Lincoln and continuing Saturday at Missouri S&T.
