ST. CHARLES, Mo. – No. 6 Bulldog Men's Basketball shot just 36.6 percent from the field in an 80-66 quarterfinal loss to No. 3 Upper Iowa at the 2025 GLVC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament.
Down 46-32 at the half, Truman State narrowed the deficit to three, 56-53, on a three pointer by junior
Xavier Hall with 11:08 left to play, but the Peacocks followed with an 8-0 run to return to a 11-point margin. Upper Iowa stretched its lead back to 14 points with 5:19 to play when the 'Dogs made one final charge on a 9-0 run to get back to five down but could only muster a field goal by junior
Brennan Lovette the rest of the way in the loss.
Truman State played from behind the entire way trailing by 11 at the 13:05 mark in the first half with Upper Iowa opening game-high 24-point lead less than six minutes of play later. The Peacocks shot 60.7 percent to Truman State's 34.3 percent from the field in the opening frame.
Hall led the Bulldogs with 21 points and eight assists with Lovette contributing 14 points and five rebounds. Senior

Marquis Carver-Smith grabbed a career-high eight rebounds in 17 minutes of play.
The Bulldogs finish the 2024-25 campaign 17-12 overall, 11-9 GLVC, while Upper Iowa goes to 21-8 overall, 14-6 GLVC, and will face No. 2 seed Missouri-St. Louis in the semifinals Saturday at 2:15 p.m.
