Biography
2023-24 (Graduate Season): Became only the fifth Truman women’s basketball player to earn all-GLVC honors for four seasons and only the second player to earn first team honors in three consecutive seasons…also was named All-Midwest region by the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association as selected by the College Sports Communicators…finished her Truman playing career third on the all-time scoring list with 1,686 points and second in total rebounds with 1,100…leaves Truman as the all-time leader in field goal percentage at .563, making 634 shots out of 1,127…ranked 17th nationally in field goal percentage for the season at 55.8% and was 18th in defensive rebounds per game at 7.1…led the team in scoring at 17.7 points per game while adding 8.7 rebounds and 22 blocked shots…scored in double-figures in all but two games with a single-game high of 25 coming in three different contests…made 30 three pointers and was 121-of-158 from the free throw line…posted 10 double-doubles on the season with a single-game high rebounds of 15 against Lewis on November 27…was the GLVC Player of the Week after averaging over 20 points and 13 rebounds in the opening weekend of the season…reeled off five straight 20+ plus games to end the season…a GLVC Council of President’s Award recipient for a career 3.5 grade-point average and named to the Academic All-GLVC team…named Truman State’s most outstanding senior female student-athlete for 2023-24 and was a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection.
2022-23 (Senior Season): Weltha was named to the all-GLVC for the third time in her career as she again picked up first team honors for the second straight season. Weltha was in the top 10 in scoring in the GLVC at 15.2 points per game and third in rebounds at 9.1 per night. She had 10 double-doubles with a single-game high of 29 points against McKendree and 16 rebounds in two different games, one against Indianapolis and another against Florida Southern. She was named the GLVC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week following her 29-point, eight rebound performance against McKendree on November 28. She enters her graduate year 12th in all-time scoring at Truman with 1,191 points and fourth in career rebounds with 856. Her .556 career shooting percentage to start 2023-24 is tops among Bulldogs with a minimum of 200 made field goals. Weltha was the GLVC Outdoor champion in the women's Discus Throw and silver medalist in the Shot Put. She was a second-team all-American in the Shot Put with a ninth place national finish.
2021-22 (Junior Season: Unanimous first-team All GLVC team...named second-team Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Midwest region by College Sports Information Directors of America...started in all 29 games, playing an average of 30.3 minutes per game...was fifth in the region and second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in rebounds per game at 10.6 per night and was second in double-doubles this year with 15 in 29 games played...averaged 16.1 points per game with career game highs in points, 29 against Lewis and rebounds, 19 versus Southern Indiana, all coming in the 2021-22 season
2020-21(Sophomore Season): A third team all-GLVC honoree who finished 10th on the single-season record list with 252 rebounds in only 22 games played and set a new school mark in field goal percentage shooting 62.7% on 101-of-161 attempts…previous mark was .599 by Carol Jarrard in 1978-79…had the third highest rebound average in school history at 11.5 per game…started all 22 games and had 10 or more rebounds in 16 games with a high of 18 against Northwood in the NCAA regional opening round…finished the season with nine straight 10+ rebound games and eight of nine double-doubles…scored a season-high 26 against Missouri-St. Louis and was in double-figures 13 times…had the sixth-best shooting game in school history going 10-of-12 for her 26 points against UMSL on January 19…pulled down 207 defensive rebounds and added 46 assists, eight blocks and 13 steals…joined the Truman Softball team after basketball and led that team with six home runs while driving in 20 runs and hitting .278 in 26 games played...named to the Academic All-GLVC team.
2019-20 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in 18 games in her first season with the Bulldogs and averaged 1.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and shot 55.6% from the floor…she scored five points in 13 minutes in a victory over Missouri S&T on January 9th.
Previous: Weltha was a highly decorated four-sport athlete out of Bloomington High School in Bloomington, Illinois before attending and playing softball at Illinois State in spring 2019. On the diamond, she started 42 of 46 games as a freshman with five home runs and 27 runs batted in.
Her basketball accolades at Bloomington include a three time first-team all-conference and all-area selection, member of the 1,000 point club with a program record 1,644 points scored and 1,118 career rebounds. She was the career blocks leader with 224 and added 336 assists and 500 steals. She was an honorable mention Illinois Class 4 all-state performer.
Weltha played volleyball her senior season and earned unanimous all-Big 12 league honors. She was the Bloomington High School Female Athlete of the Year four times and was also a major contributor to the school's Track & Field team.
