If a student-athlete obtains professional advice or an agent to assist with NIL activities, the following form must be completed and submitted to Truman State Athletics Compliance.

Truman State student-athletes are encouraged to obtain professional advice to assist them with NIL activities. The use of an agent, as defined by NCAA bylaws, may only be used for NIL activities.

Truman State Athletics Compliance reserves the right to request a copy of any agreement if it believes the agreement creates a conflict with institutional policy or NCAA bylaws.

Truman State Athletics will not be responsible for any agreement or contractual obligation, whether with an agent or other third party. Student-athletes are strongly encouraged to thoroughly vet any agents or advisors prior to working with them.

Professional representation on behalf of a student-athlete by an athlete agent or attorney shall only be provided by persons licensed by the state of Missouri or holding certificates of registration as provided by applicable Missouri law.

Those interested in representing Truman State student-athletes for NIL activities must first register and be approved by the Missouri Department of Professional Registration.

All agent contracts must include the following information:

• The amount and method of calculating the consideration to be paid by the student-athlete; services to be provided by the athlete agent under the contract; and any other consideration the athlete agent has received or will receive from any other source for entering into the contract or for providing the services.
• The name of any person not listed in the application for registration or renewal who will be compensated because the student-athlete signed the agency contract.
• A description of any expenses that the student-athlete agrees to reimburse.
• A description of the services to be provided to the student-athlete.
• The duration of the contract.
• The date of execution.
