Carswell was second on the Longhorns with 88 tackles his senior season and finished with 280 career stops with 166 solo. He had four career sacks, two interceptions, five fumble recoveries and scored twice as a member of the defense. Carswell started out as the linebacker position then moved to nose guard and finally tackle his senior year. He earned all-conference and all-District honors in both junior and senior years. Carswell was named all-conference as member of the Parkway West Baseball team and has been a Scholar-Athlete.
