Biography
2023: Had two interceptions, including a 20-yard touchdown “pick six” return during the season…finished with 38 total tackles…earned All-GLVC honors as a defensive back…had tackles in each of the 11 games with highs of five in three contests…had a key interception in the endzone during overtime against Quincy that led to a Bulldog win on their next possession…had three career “pick-sixes” and eight career interceptions…is tied with Kelvin Cunningham for the top spot on the career list for interceptions returned for TDs with three and is sixth in career interception return yards with 162…earned Academic All-GLVC honors.
2022: First team all-GLVC honors as a utility player…had a pair of interceptions, including a pick six against Quincy University for 26 yards…28 total tackles with single-game high of six in first game against Tiffin (Ohio)…earned Academic All-GLVC honors as a sophomore letter winner.
2021:Racked up team-high four interceptions and totaled 88 yards in INT returns...Longest was a 44-yard return against William Jewell (10/23)...Finished season with 16 total tackles in 12 games...One of five true freshmen letterwinners...named Academic All-GLVC
High School: Closser has been a member of two state championship teams, including this past season at Blair Oaks High School. The Falcons finish the season 13-1 with the Class 3 Missouri State title. Closser finished his career with 113 receptions for 2,355 yards and 35 touchdowns while adding 40 rushes for 288 yards and four scores. He broke a school record with seven catches for 337 yards in a game. On the defensive side, in the secondary, he made over 70 total tackles with 14 interceptions, five defensive touchdowns ( a school record) and 23 pass break-ups. He is a three-time all-state honoree and a four-time all-district and all-conference selection. Closser is a member of the school's academic honor roll and a member of the National Honor Society.
