Biography
2014 (Senior): Was injured in the first game of the season after making five tackles against Drake…medical redshirt.
2013 (Junior): Played in all 11 games while making two starts…finished with 34 total tackles, 26 solo and had a fumble recovery against Quincy (Ill.) on Oct. 5…had a career-high three pass breakups in victory over William Jewell on Oct. 12.
2012 (Sophomore): Averaged two tackles per game with two fumble recoveries and one fumble force…had four total tackles in two games, against Lincoln (Mo.) on Sept. 8 and Fort Hays (Kan.) State on Sept. 29…recovered a fumble on the second half kickoff that led to a one-play touchdown in victory against Northwestern Oklahoma State on Sept. 15…following a 15-yard completion, striped and recovery a fumble on the Bulldogs 34-yardline to end a Nebraska-Kearney scoring drive in the fourth quarter of a 16-7 Bulldog victory
2011 (Freshman): One of three true freshmen to play in 2011…played in five games, making debut on Sept. 24 against Central Missouri where he recorded a season-high four tackles…had 16 total tackles in five games and had an interception for 24 yards in victory over SW Baptist on Nov. 12.
High School: Day was named the defensive most valuable player by the Belleville News-Democrat and earned all-city and all-conference honors for coach Cameron Pettus. While playing on both sides of the ball, Day recorded 84 tackles, eight sacks and had three returns for 37 yards. Day is also an accomplished track and field athlete with a 14.9 time in the 110 meter hurdles and times of 39.2 and 56.42 in both the 300 and 400 meter hurdle events.
