- Earned GLVC Player of the Week honors for special teams after blocking a pair of punts, one leading directly to a touchdown against William Jewell.
- Had four tackles in two games, all solo stops.
2019 (Freshman)
- Played in 10 games as a true freshman.
- Recorded 14 tackles with one TFL.
- Recorded his first career interception on September 21 against Valparaiso.
High School: Lain earned second team all-State as a linebacker and was first team all-district as both a linebacker and Tight End for the Kirksville Tigers in 2018. Lain shattered the Kirksville single-season records for a receiver. He had 99 catches for 1,100 yards and on the defensive side added 140 tackles. On the diamond, Lain has been a first team all-NCMC all-district and all-State outfielder and set school records for hits and RBIs for a season and pitching saves. He is also a member of the Kirksville basketball team. Tanner plans to major in Biology and is the son of Tony and Tonda Lain.
