2017 (Freshman):Redshirt season. 

High School: Tencza was a defensive end for the 9-3 Griffins of Lincoln Way East. Team lost in the quarterfinals of the Illinois Class 8 34-31 to eventual champion Maine South. He was a two-year starter and earned AP Scholar and Honor Roll accolades.
